NKJV Bible. John 15:1-8
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. Love and Joy Perfected.
The Bible acknowledges that there is a true vine. This statement makes me conclude that similarly there is a false vine, right! Does this challenge us as brethren on which vine are we connected to? We should yearn to be connected to the true vine (Jesus Christ) with who we identify.
Identifying with our Saviour Jesus Christ means we were born of him and that we carry character traits of him, therefore our lifestyle should portray Jesus Christ in us. When we are connected to the true vine (Jesus), this means we are his branches… Isn’t this fascinating?
The Bible puts it clear that being Jesus’ branches we must bear fruits V2, so we are entitled to do all it takes to make sure the kingdom of God grows. This is by impacting the environment we live in positively, and by so doing, we are there fulfilling the scriptures by being fruitful.
God himself is the vinedresser and for every branch that doesn’t bear fruits he takes it away and for every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruits.
Brethren we all know that pruning is the act of removing the unwanted branches from a plant, so the fact that a plant is being pruned means that the plant is in the garden.
Therefore, God is pruning you means you are in his vineyard and He needs you to be more productive… How fascinating it is to be in God’s vineyard!!
When God prunes us means that he is taking care of us, he is creating room for growth.
When God prunes us brethren we must lose something we have attachments with, maybe the environment we are used to, name them. When this happens we should understand that God is doing it out of love and that he delights to see us grow.
How many times do our plans go contrary to our expectations? Then, we are left complaining and arguing how unfair God is, only at the end of it all do we appreciate the end results. As the scriptures say, all things work together for our own good in Christ Jesus, so stop your complaining!
Jesus taught his disciples how to be fruitful so that their joy may be full.
Is your joy full?
NKJV Bible. John 15:11
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. In other words, fruitfulness is fun, there is great joy in attaining the results God desires.
Therefore, we should enjoy and have fun when growing and while doing what makes the kingdom of God grow.
Brethren, what is it that you are doing to impact God’s kingdom positively? Are you enjoying and having fun doing it? If your answer is no, may God help us. Let’s have faith in God, let’s obey his instructions, let’s respect his process because He alone defines our identity.
Let’s stay connected to the true vine.
