Nairobi, Kenya — Mama Africa Book Box (MABB), an initiative of CLC Kenya, has released the January Read With Me Book List, a carefully curated collection of 24 books by 24 African authors from seven countries across the continent. The January list brings together authors from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Eswatini, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria, reflecting a growing movement to cultivate a strong, faith-centred reading culture rooted in African voices and lived experiences.
Designed to serve readers across different seasons of life, the collection spans young adults, family and gender, business and leadership, missions and devotionals, mental health, Christian living, poetry, fiction, and biographies. Each title has been selected to encourage purposeful reading that shapes character, strengthens faith, and sparks meaningful conversations in homes, Churches, and communities.
“Read With Me is about reading with intention,” said the Mama Africa Book Box team. “We want readers to slow down, engage deeply, and allow books to disciple hearts across generations. This list reflects Africa’s stories, challenges, faith, and hope.”
Participants in the Read With Me program may select up to two books at a time, in either print or ebook format, promoting sustainable reading habits rather than hurried consumption.
The January Read With Me reading journey will culminate in a continental Zoom gathering on 3rd February 2026, bringing together readers, authors, and facilitators for reflections, conversations, and shared learning across borders. The online gathering will serve as a moment to celebrate completed reads, hear directly from authors, and cast vision for the next phase of the Read With Me program.
The January Read With Me initiative is part of MABB’s broader vision to build a continent-wide reading culture that empowers African families and communities through wholesome, relevant Christian literature authored by Africans.
