Assignment 1.1 An Old Dusty Book

Assignments create teaching and learning opportunities to think and learn about ideas, topics, events, and questions — about specific content in the writing course. This is why a quality assignment is the hallmark of effective instruction. By completing each assignment in the context of the unit you are in, you will form a stronger foundation for yourself to understand the next unit and by the end of the course, you should have the manuscript (first draft) ready.

Have you read about how an old dusty book changed the history of Israel at the time? Which book have you read that changed the trajectory of your life?

Leave the title of the book, author of the book and the impact of the book in your life in the comment below.

  • It taught me how to focus on my goals for different conversations and build on arguments and objections/counter thoughts to achieve those goals.

  • To be honest only the Bible has changed the trajectory of my life (trajectory is a heavy word you know…) but I’ve read other books that have impacted my life in different ways.  One of them is Getting More by Stuart Diamond.  I am a better conversationalist as a result of reading this book.  It taught me how to focus on my goals for different conversations and build on arguments and counter to achieve those goals.

  • Book: Codependent No more
    Author: Melody Beattie
The book helped me realise codependency patterns and was able to overcome and create healthy boundaries in relationships.

The title itself spoke to me. It reminded me that who I am is a great potential waiting to manifest. It made it sink in my soul and bring alive the scripture that, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. “
